LONDON – Shell has awarded the AJS joint venture of AMEC, Jacobs, and Stork an extension of its integrated services contract in the southern North Sea.

The five-year extension, with options for an additional five years, covers the Shell ONEgas facilities in the UK and Dutch sectors held by Shell UK Exploration & Production and Nederlandse Aardolie Maatschappij (NAM).

They consist of 54 offshore assets, the Bacton gas plant on the English east coast, and the NAM-operated gas plant in Den Helder, the Netherlands. AJS employs around 1,250 staff performing maintenance, modifications, and capital projects for the facilities.

Its initial contract with Shell started in 2003.
