Ophir Energy has awarded Petrofac a letter of intent to provide services up to the final investment decision for a proposed gas development offshore Equatorial Guinea.

LONDON – Ophir Energy has awarded Petrofac a letter of intent to provide services up to the final investment decision for a proposed gas development offshore Equatorial Guinea.
The company has so far discovered three fields inoffshore block R with combined resources estimated at 2.6 tcf (74 bcm).
Duties will likely include preparing and issuing the field development plan for the project and coordinating the interface between the upstream and midstream elements.
Ophir has proposals from numerous floating LNG vessel providers, some of which it has shortlisted for additional assessment with Equatorial Guinea’s Ministry of Mines, Industry and Energy.
