DUBAI, UAE – Total E&P Angola has contracted Stanford Marine’s platform supply vessel (PSV) Stanford Hawk for five years, with extension options.
The 75-m (246-ft) long, 3,300-ton dwt vessel was built by Fujian Mawei Shipyard in China. It will support Total’s process and storage activities by transporting personnel and cargo, as well as assisting in safety standby duties.
Thevessel has already sailed to Angola after a two-week stay in Dubai for client-specified modifications, including a removable boat landing and floating hoses.
Stanford Hawk is a DP-2 diesel electric PSV with a FiFi 1 notation and accommodation for up to 52 people. It has an open deck area of 700 sq m (7,535 sq ft), a 5-ton crane, and can carry about 1,750 tons of cargo on deck.
Under deck capacities include 1,287 cu m (340,000 gal.) of fuel, 800 cu m (211,338 gal.) of fresh water, 1,538 cu m (406,297 gal.) of water ballast, 497 cu m (131,293 gal.) of brine, and 230-cu m (8,122-cu ft) dry bulk tanks.
Propulsion is supplied by four Cummins generators each rated at 1.8 MW, with a maximum speed of 14 knots.
Stanford Buzzard, another PSV in the company’s fleet, is on assignment offshore East Africa.
