GSP jackup unit begins service for PEMEX in Gulf of Mexico

GSP’s third mobile offshore jackup drilling unit has entered service for PEMEX in the Gulf of Mexico. The GSP Fortuna initiated drilling operations under an 894-day contract with PEMEX.

HOUSTONGSP’s third mobile offshore jackup drilling unit has entered service for PEMEX in the Gulf of Mexico. The GSP Fortuna initiated drilling operations under an 894-day contract with PEMEX.

TheGSP Fortuna is a three-leg, cantilever-type, self-elevating unit, built with a Friede & Goldman L-780 Model II design. At the beginning of this long-term contract with PEMEX, the GSP Fortuna was assigned drilling operations in the Dos Bocas field.

Currently, GSP operates in the Gulf of Mexico with three mobile offshore drilling units: theGSP Atlas, the GSP Fortuna, and the GSP Orizont.

Before this contract with PEMEX, theGSP Fortuna carried out a drilling campaign in the sea region of the Kavala Gulf, in the Prinos oil field of northern Greece, for Energean Oil & Gas.
