Apache brings two more Beryl fields online in North Sea

HOUSTONApache Corp.’s UK North Sea production in 4Q 2013 averaged 75,212 boe/d, up 13% from 3Q 2013. This was due to strong drilling results and recovered volumes from turnaround programs, the company said.

The XSP horizontal well, drilled from theBeryl Alpha platform, encountered 688 ft (210 m) of net oil pay along the wellbore. The well came online in December and achieved an initial 30-day production rate of 7,500 b/d of oil and 2.8 MMcf/d (79,290 cm/d) of gas.

Also in December, theBeryl Bravo B75 came onstream with an initial 30-day production rate of 3,740 b/d and 6.5 MMcf/d (184,060 cm/d).

Commissioning of the new Forties Alpha Satellite Platform is 99% complete with only the first oil systems remaining. The facility is expected to be fully operational during the current quarter with drilling expected to start this spring.
