The platform was shut down in September after a small sheen appeared on the water which originated from its pipeline. Esso removed all oil from the pipeline to leave it in a shut-in and stable state while reviewing options for the repair.
After securing approval from NOPSEMA and NOPTA, the pipeline was repaired and then underwent high-pressure testing with water to ensure it was safe to operate.
