BLYTH, UK – McDermott has contracted FES International to supply diverless bend stiffener connectors for the Ichthys LNG project offshore northwest Australia in the Browse basin.
The contract is valued at between $7.6 and $10 million, depending on the final number of connectors used.
FES says the DBSCs will be produced in phased delivery between October 2013 and September 2014.
The Ichthys LNG project is a joint venture between INPEX, TOTAL, and other participants. Gas from Ichthys will undergo preliminary processing offshore to remove water and extract condensate. The gas will then be exported to onshore processing facilities in Darwin via a subsea pipeline.
