PARIS – In conjunction with announcing the signing of the main agreements needed to complete acquiring Fugro’s Geoscience Division, CGGVeritas also has established a new identity.
The name has been shortened to CGG and now is organized into division for Equipment, Acquisition and Geology, and Geophysics and Reservoirs. The current ticker symbols (Paris:GA; NYSE:CGV) will be changed to “CGG” on Feb. 1, 2013.
The acquisition will be completed by Jan. 31, 2013, said Jean-Georges Malcor, CEO of CGG.
The official update of the name will go to the board of directors on May 3, for approval. Until then, the official name remains Compagnie Generale de Geophysique – Veritas.
