OSLO, Norway – Aker Solutions has signed a NOK 2 billion ($368 million) contract to supply Statoil with a subsea production system for Aasta Hansteen field on the Norwegian continental shelf.
The subsea production system scope of work includes three template-manifold structures, seven subsea trees, wellheads, controls, and workover andtie-in systems.
Management, engineering, and procurement will primarily be performed at Aker Solutions' headquarters in Fornebu, Norway. Fabrication of the subsea trees and workover systems will be completed at the Tranby manufacturing center, outside Oslo. The production of the template-manifolds will be done at Aker Solutions' facilities in Egersund on the west coast and Sandnessjøen in the northern part of Norway. The facility in Aberdeen, UK, will deliver the control systems and the wellheads.
Aasta Hansteen is 300 km (186 mi) west of Bodø and 140 km (87 mi) north of the nearest existing offshore infrastructure Norne, in the northern part of Norway. It is a deepwater project consisting of the three structures Luva, Haklang, and Snefrid South at a water depth of 1,300 m (4,264 ft).
Aasta Hansteen is the deepest subsea development in the Norwegian waters to date.
The first deliveries of the Aasta Hansteen subsea production system will be made in the first half of 2015.
Aker Solutions recently signed a NOK 280 million ($51.5 million) contract with Statoil to supplydeepwater umbilicals for Aasta Hansteen.
