ABERDEEN, UK – Robert Gordon University (RGU), in conjunction with Fitnut Ltd., has launched a program to develop, monitor, and evaluate training and nutrition programs for saturation divers to improve the divers’ health and fitness.
The project has a budget of £127,000 (US$208,000), which will fund two years of research involving subsea engineering companies, diving industry experts, dieticians, physical activity experts, behavioral psychologists, and occupational physiotherapists.
The research will study divers’ lifestyles both onshore and offshore to provide a wellness program that will help minimize the health risks associated with the highly technical and complicated nature of the divers’ work environments.
