STAVANGER, Norway – Statoil and its partners have recommended landing oil from the Johan Sverdrup field at the Mongstad terminal on Norway’s west coast.
This follows evaluation of Sture and Mongstad as terminals for receiving the oil. The decision was based on various factors, Statoil said, including cost, technical feasibility, flexibility, HSE, and plan risk.
The partners’ preferred export solution comprises a 275-km (171-mi), 36-in. subsea pipeline fromJohan Sverdrup and an overland route, with associated modifications at Mongstad.
