LIMERICK, Ireland – Circle Oil expects a seismic vessel to arrive at block 52 offshore Oman early next year, in preparation for a 2D inshore marine seismic program.
The data will be used to delineate three inshore prospects for potential drilling.
Circle is looking to reduce its interest in the block via a farm-out. Two companies are evaluating data over the block, but if there are no offers, the company may drill one of the inshore prospects at its sole risk.
Offshore Tunisia, the authorities have ratified Circle’s increased interest in theMahdia permit, and the company has made progress for a commitment well.
Aside from recruiting an offshore drilling manager, it has ordered long lead items for the well, completed logistics support planning and an environmental impact study, and tendered an offshore site survey.
Currently the company is negotiating for a drilling rig, and it will consider farm-in offers for the prospect.
