SHARJAH, UAE--Unique Seaflex has delivered materials to support a load test on a Saipem-owned derrick barge at Pointe Noire, Congo.
Saipem needed to perform the 550-ton load test urgently, but only had 100 tons of solid weights in hand. No suitable equipment was available locally.
Unique Seaflex claims it was the only company able to respond on a rental basis within the required timeframe, allowing Saipem to avoid barge downtime while waiting for the test to take place. This involved flying a consignment of 13 x 35-ton WaterLoad test bags plus accessories (manifolds, hoses) from Cowes, UK, to Congo.
There a Unique Seaflex technician assisted Saipem’s crew with rigging and safe use of the equipment, in accordance with LEEA Guidance 051.
