PSA approves Wintershall, Statoil drilling plans

OSLO, Norway –Petroleum Safety Authority (PSA) Norway has sanctioned two new offshore drilling programs.

Wintershall has clearance for exploration well 6407/1-7 in production license 475 in the Norwegian Sea, using the semisub Borgland Dolphin.

Drilling should start this month and could last 43 days, depending on whether a discovery results.

For Statoil, the semisubSonga Delta should start drilling and completion of wells 25/11-H-4 H/AH/BH and 25/11-H-3 H/AH during December. This campaign should last 220 days.
