BANGKOK, Thailand – PTTEP expects to start gas production from the Zawtika project offshore Myanmar by early 2014.
The central production platform should by now be in place at its location in the Gulf of Mataban. Development drilling continues, as well as construction of the gas export pipeline.
Elsewhere in the sector, PTTEP has completed four appraisal wells in the offshoreMyanmar M3 concession, with gas discovered and plans for more wells next year.
In September, the company started drilling a deepwater exploration well named Manizawta-1 on Mynmar M11. This is expected to be completed around the turn of the year.
PTTEP Australasia’s offshoreMontara field started production in June and is averaging 10,000 b/d of oil. Production should increase as subsea wells and additional development well come onstream.
