Dana Gas contracts Adyard for UAE offshore platform

Dana Gas has awarded Interserve subsidiary Adyard Abu Dhabi a $17-million contract for fabrication of a platform for the Zora field development, 40 km (25 mi) off the shared coasts of Sharjah and Ajman.

SHARJAH, UAE – Dana Gas has awarded Interserve subsidiary Adyard Abu Dhabi a $17-million contract for fabrication of a platform for the Zora field development, 40 km (25 mi) off the shared coasts of Sharjah and Ajman.

Gas from Zora will be transported through a 35-km (21.7-mi) subsea pipeline to a gas processing facility onshore Sharjah.

Adyard’s scope includes preparing the finished platform for loading onto a transportation vessel. It will be installed at the Zora field in a water depth of 24 m (79 ft), along with associated facilities.

Dana Gas estimates the overall capital investment for the project at $160 million. It aims to start delivering 40 MMcf/d (1.1 MMcm/d) from the offshore facilities during 1Q 2015.

Recently, the company signed various agreements with the Sharjah and Ajman governments forjoint field development. These included a unitization accord for management of Zora field, gas sales and purchase agreements, and a joint operating agreement.
