TRONDHEIM, Norway – First steel has been cut for the topsides and jacket of the Ivar Aasen platform at the construction yards in Singapore and Italy.
Operator Det norske oljeselskap has also completed an ocean bottom seismic survey over the central Norwegian North Sea field, to improve mapping of the field’s main structure.
The unitization process continues with the partners in neighboring production license 457.
In the same region, Det norske says the various partners in the giantJohan Sverdrup field are making progress with the development concept selection.
Development will be in several phases, although the number and the schedule are still to be decided. The plan for development and operation is expected to be submitted to the Norwegian authorities toward end-2014.
