BANGKOK, Thailand – SMOE in Singapore has completed the processing and living quarters platform for the Zawtika field in the Gulf of Mottama, offshore Myanmar. The location is 290 km (180 mi) west of Tavoy (Dawei).
Operator PTTEP expects first gas by end-2013, building to a rate of 345 MMcf/d (10 MMcm/d).
The ZPQ platform topsides, which weighs 16,500 metric tons (18,188 tons), was designed and constructed over a period of 28 months.
Development Phase 1A also comprises three wellhead platforms, intra-field sea lines, and an offshore and onshoregas export pipeline connecting to the PTT gas line at Ban-I-Tong, Kanchanaburi province, on the Thailand-Myanmar border.
