Nexen produces first gas from Rochelle in North Sea

CNOOC (NYSE:CEO) says its subsidiary Nexen Petroleum U.K. has achieved first production from the Rochelle gas/condensate field in the central UK North Sea.

HONG KONG -- CNOOC (NYSE:CEO) says its subsidiary Nexen Petroleum U.K. has achieved first production from the Rochelle gas/condensate field in the central UK North Sea.
Rochelle is in blocks 15/26b, 15/26c, and 15/27, 115 mi (185 km) northeast of Aberdeen. The development comprises two subsea production wells (East andWest Rochelle) and the installation of a production pipeline, connected to the Nexen-operated Scott platform.
West Rochelle is onstream, while the East Rochelle well is cased and is being completed. It should come on-line later this year.
Nexen UK has a 41% interest in Rochelle, in partnership with Endeavour International (44%) and Premier Oil (15%).
