Offshore staff
STOCKHOLM, Sweden – Production from the Didon field offshore Tunisia remains shut in to allow the field’s floating storage and offloading vessel to undergo recertification work and upgrades.
According to partner PA Resources (PAR), the program is being conducted at the Palumbo Dry Dock in Malta. Concurrently an extensive shutdown maintenance program is in progress on the Didon production platform, along with change-out of a production riser.
Production is expected to re-start early in November.
In late May, PAR agreed to farm out a 70% operating interest in all of its Tunisian offshore assets toEnQuest. But due to Tunisia’s current political situation, the transaction and regulatory approval process is unlikely to be complete before 1Q 2014.
Meantime, negotiations continue between the southern and northern tract partners to develop a unitization operating agreement for the offshoreZarat field. Around the turn of the year, PAR expects a full- field life unit plan of development to be submitted.
