PERTH, Australia – Woodside says the Browse Joint Venture partners have accepted its recommendation of floating LNG (FLNG) to develop the three Browse gas fields offshore northwest Australia.
This would involve a combination ofShell’s FLNG technology and Woodside’s offshore development expertise.
The partners have agreed to progress basis of design (BOD) work for the selected development concept. This will determine the main design parameters for front-end engineering and design (FEED) of the proposed subsea and FLNG facilities and associated infrastructure.
Woodside as operator will execute the BOD work, supported by Shell as the FLNG technology provider. The aim is to start FEED for the selected development concept in 2014.
