STAVANGER, Norway – E.ON Ruhrgas has implemented a hydrocarbon blanketing system on the Huntington field FPSO in the UK central North Sea, according to partner Noreco.
Last month, production was constrained due to issues relating toventing of the cargo tanks during low wind speed.
The new replacement system is not subject to wind speed restrictions. In parallel, repairs were completed on the platform’s “A” compressor.
Output over the last few days has averaged 30,000 b/d of oil and 23 MMcf/d (651,288 cm/d) of export gas, and should remain at those levels. If that is the case, plateau production appears to be higher than anticipated, Noreco says.
Another shut-in field, the DONG-operated Oselvar subsea tieback offshore Norway to BP’s Ula platform, has also restarted production following a four-week shutdown. Here the problem was adefective gas compressor at Ula, which has been replaced.
