PARIS– Statoil has contracted Nexans to supply the static umbilicals for the Gullfaks Rimfaksdalen project in the Norwegian North Sea.
The consignment will be based on a standardized fasttrack umbilical design, which integrates hydraulic, data, and fiber-optic services.
Previously the company delivered similar packages for Statoil’sOseberg Delta, Snøhvit, and Smørbukk Sør developments.
Nexans’ facility in Halden, Norway, will manufacture 9 km (6 mi) of static umbilicals for installation in 137 m (449 ft) water depth. These will be incorporated into thesubsea tieback of the Rutil and Opal gas discoveries to the Gullfaks A platform.
