CALGARY, Canada – Ithaca Energy says a flow test has been completed on the first development well for its Stella field in the UK central North Sea.

The A1 well flowed at a maximum rate of 10,835 boe/d on a ⅞-in. choke, comprising 6,499 b/d of 42° API oil and 26 MMcf/d (736,238 cm/d) of gas. Production was constrained by the capacity of the well test equipment on the drilling rigENSCO 100.

Facilities on theFPF-1 floating production platform that is being upgraded for the development will separate and export oil and gas produced from Stella. They should also increase the overall oil relative to gas production rate more efficiently than the facilities available for the well test.

Following suspension of A1, the rig will drill the second Stella development well from the same drilling center location.

Otherwise, Technip UK has completed much of this year’s program of subsea installations for the project.

As for the platform, Petrofac Facilities Management’s focus is now on the initial works required to start installation of the new processing plant.
