OSLO, Norway – DNO International has finished drilling the Saleh-8 well on the Saleh field offshore the Emirate of Ras Al Khaimah, UAE.
The well was drilled to a TD of 5,205 m (17,076 ft), including a 327-m (1,073-ft) horizontal section, into the Thamama reservoir. It delivered initial rates of 15 MMcf/d (424,753 cm/d) of natural gas and 1,000 b/d of condensate.
Saleh-8 will be tied into the existing infrastructure to allow production and pressure monitoring. For the time being, DNO will perform artificial lift studies on the partially depleted upper Wasia reservoir.
Another operator plans to drill an exploration well east of the Saleh field next year, with DNO carried for its 16% interest.
