TRONDHEIM, Norway – Det norske oljeselskap has contracted Apply Leirvik to build the living quarters for the Ivar Aasenplatform in the Norwegian North Sea.
Apply divisionLQ & Helidecks will construct the 3,300-sq m (35,521-sq ft), seven-floor quarters in Stord, western Norway. The aluminum structure will feature 70 single cabins, recreation areas, changing rooms, a control room, helicopter deck, and other facilities.
Engineering has started and delivery is scheduled for spring 2016.
In the Barents Sea, CGG’sVeritage Vantage is acquiring 2,000 sq km (772 sq mi) of 3D broadband seismic data in license 715 for Det norske. The survey area covers around four blocks.
The license, awarded in June, is on the barely explored Lopphøgda area.
