STAVANGER, Norway – Production remains shut in at the DONG-operated Nini, Nini East, and Cecilie fields in the Danish North Sea.

Operations were due to re-start last week, but operations are still suspended at the hostSiri production platform, according to partner Noreco.

Production from the three satellite fields was shut down in mid-July following discovery of a crack in the sponson tank at the Siri platform. A permanent repair of the Siri platform looks unlikely before next summer, although DONG says production from the satellites may continue through a temporary solution which would involve direct loading to a tanker.

The solution cannot be implemented, however, until DONG receives approval from the Danish authorities.
