STAVANGER, Norway – Norwegian Energy Company (Noreco) expects operations to resume next month at the Lulita field in the Danish North Sea.
Production has been shut in since late April due totwo faulty valves in the Harald complex gas export system and removal of wax from the oil export pipeline. The operator is evaluating different options for repairing the final valve, but service should resume shortly.
Noreco is also a partner in the Nini, Nini East and Cecilie fields, all tiebacks to the DONG-operated Siri field in the Danish sector. Production was recently suspended when a newcrack was discovered in the Siri platform’s tank sponson.
DONG now plans to finish repairs of the platform by summer 2014. A temporary solution should allow restoration of production from the satellite fields via direct loading of the produced oil to a tanker.
However, the Danish authorities have not yet approved this solution, and no official date has been set for the resumption. Lower regularity is likely until the permanent repair has been implemented.
Elsewhere in the sector, Noreco is a partner in the 9/95 Maja license. Well planning continues in the license, with a view to drilling the Xana-1X prospect in 2014.
The prospect may extend into the Gita license (9/06) where Noreco has a 12% stake. In the adjacent 7/86 license, a technical evaluation of the Amalie discovery is under way to see if there is a basis for further activities during 2013.
