PAPENDRECHT, the Netherlands – Royal Boskalis Westminster has assisted the repair and maintenance of a semisubmersible drilling rig in the Mediterranean.
Drydocks in the region could not accommodate a rig this size, so Boskalis subsidiary Dockwise offered dry docking on itstransportation vesselDockwise Vanguard.
The rig was loaded onto the vessel, allowing inspection and repairs to be made in areas of the rig that would otherwise be below the waterline.
SMIT, another Boskalis subsidiary, provided underwater inspection and temporary repairs prior to loading the vessel onto theDockwise Vanguard.
