TEHRAN, Iran – Three more phases of the South Pars gas/condensate field development in the Persian Gulf are nearing start-up, according to news service Shana.
Petropars is pre-testing of equipment on the Phase 12 Platform A and of gas flow through the 150-km (93-mi) subsea export pipeline.
Pars Oil and Gas Co. Managing Director Mohammad-Reza Zahiri said: “Based on coordination with Iranian Gas Transmission Co., a specified volume of sweetened and refined gas will be delivered for final test of safety systems and offshore facilities and equipment from Phase 12.”
The flare on one of thePhase 12 platforms will be lit soon, he added. The scheme is designed to produce 500 MMcf/d (14 MMcm/d) of sour gas, which will be treated and sent through Iran’s grid for domestic consumption this winter.
South Pars phases 15 and 16 are expected to also come online in the next few days, according to managing director of National Iranian Oil Co. Ahamad Qalebani.
Sweetening is expected to begin soon at associated treatment facilities in Assaluyeh, followed by launching of dehydration and boosting pressure units to transfer the processed gas to the national gas grid for consumption.
