CALGARY, Canada – Ithaca Energy has updated some of its field developments in the UK North Sea.
Work is under way to allow start-up of the electrical submersible pump (ESP) later this year on the Causeway field. Assuming a six-week turnaround on the host North Cormorant platform, the associated facilities are expected to become operational this fall, and boost production from Causeway.
At the Ithaca-operatedAthena field, the temporarily shut-in P2 well was repaired and brought back online in early July. However, the P4 well had to be shut in yesterday for diagnostic testing, including investigation of the well’s ESP.
Over the last few days, the Shell-operatedCook field also has had to be shut in for inspection of the infield flowline connecting Cook to the FPSO Anasuria. The program is expected to be completed next month, followed by a production re-start.
Drilling on the Ithaca-operatedStella field started in June, with the first well currently drilling through the horizontal reservoir section.
The 60-km (37-mi), 10-in. gas export pipeline and main subsea structures are installed and infield flowline trenching is completed.
Execution of marine system works on theFPF-1 floating production platform in Gdansk, Poland, is progressing well, Ithaca adds.
