Offshore staff
NEWCASTLE-UPON-TYNE, UK --Total has contracted DUCO for steel tube umbilicals at the newly launched Egina field development offshore Nigeria. Egina is 200 km (124 mi) from Port Harcourt, in water depths ranging from 1,150-1,750 m (3,773-5,741 ft).
Contract scope covers project management, engineering, and manufacture of 76 km (47 mi) of product, includingproduction, water injection, and subsea isolation valve umbilicals.
Around 80% of the management work and 30% of the engineering will be handled locally in Nigeria, with all umbilical manufacturing performed in Newcastle. Delivery is scheduled for 2016.
