HOUSTON/DUBAI, U.A.E –Polarcus (OSE:PLCS) and ION Geophysical (NYSE:ION) have entered a three-year agreement for joint development, execution, and marketing of 3D marine multi-client projects worldwide.
The companies said the agreement combines the strengths of the two companies to deliver a differentiated 3D multi-client offering. The alliance will use ION's 2D BasinSPAN data library, to locate and design surveys that address specific geological challenges. The 3D multi-client surveys will be acquired using Polarcus' fleet of high-performance seismic vessels and will incorporate an industry leading broadband solution combining Polarcus' RIGHTBAND acquisition and survey design methodology and ION's WiBand data processing technology.
