ASHINGTON, UK – NOV and Subsea 7 have contracted FES International for subsea components of BG Norway’s Knarr development in the North Sea.
FES will supply six automatic diverless bend stiffener connectors for the newKnarr FPSO. The devices are designed to provide fast installation of riser and umbilical bend stiffeners, typically in congested or confined areas.
Their latching mechanisms are fully ROV-operable, leading to safer and more reliable connections, FES claims, with the capability to withstand very high loads.
Deliveries are due by end-2013.
