PARIS – GDF SUEZ E&P UK has awarded Xodus Group and Atkins a joint study for concept select work for the Austen (ex- Jacqui) field in the UK central North Sea.
The $2.15-million contract includes an option to proceed into the concept definition phase. The studies will identify development and export options for Austen. Work is expected to be completed early next year.
GDF SUEZ E&P UK acquired the license that contains the Austen discovery, in block 30/13b in the East Central Graben area, under the UK’s 26th offshore licensing round in 2011. The field comprises one gas condensate and two oil discoveries with further upside in unappraised compartments.
