ABERDEEN, UK – Wood Group PSN (WGPSN) has won an extension of its North Sea duty holder contract from Ithaca Energy.

Under the $200-million award, WGPSN will operate theBeatrice platforms in the Inner Moray Firth and the Nigg onshore terminal in northeast Scotland until the end of the operating lives of those facilities. The company started this role in 2008.

When original operator BP brought the platforms and terminal onstream in 1981, the expected lifespan was 30 years. Since taking charge, WGPSN has put in place asset investment programs that have increased the life expectance.

The new contract secures almost 200 UK jobs, primarily offshore.
