COPENHAGEN, Denmark – Statoil has contracted Ramboll Oil & Gas for detailed engineering of an subsea export pipeline for the Gina Krog field in the Norwegian North Sea.
Gina Krog (ex-Dagny) is 230 km (143 mi) southwest of Stavanger, Norway. Production is due to start in 2017, with the plan for development and production awaiting approval by Norway’s Parliament.
Ramboll’s contract runs until 2017 and covers five sub-projects, one being detailed design of the 27-km (16.8-mi), 20-in. gas export pipeline from the Gina Krog platform to the Sleipner A platform, where a riser will be pulled in through the existing J-tube.
“This is a challenging task but Ramboll has previously made this type of pull-in for the Gudrun project, and we are therefore able to draw on our experience and optimize the riser design including the pullhead,” said project manager Jan Bohl Andersen.
