LONDON – Premier Oil says 60 separate studies are under way for pre-front-end engineering design for the Sea Lion field development in the offshore North Falkland basin.
The company expects the full FEED phase to start later this year, and aims to submit a field development plan in mid-2014 to the Falklands government.
Offshore Indonesia, the final phase of construction is expected to start soon for the Phase 4 project at the Anoa field on Natuna Sea block A. On the same block, development drilling will likely begin early next year on the Pelikan and Naga fields.
Premier says the Dua production and pigging flowlines were laid successfully in the Vietnamese sector of the Natuna Sea, ahead of a future tie-in to theChim Sao FPSO.
Early next month theOcean General will spud the Ca Voi exploratory well in block 121 offshore Vietnam, the first of a five-well exploration and appraisal program offshore Asia.
At the company’s operated Solan field west of Shetland in the UK far north, the first development drilling phase is under way. This involves drilling two water injectors and the upper-hole sections of the producer wells.
Premier’s exploration line-up includes the current HP/HT Lacewing exploration well in the UK central North Sea, which is expected to reach the Triassic reservoir target in late June.
During 2014-15, Premier aims to drill more wells on the Lama play in Natuna Sea block A off Indonesia, the Myrhauk prospect on the eastern margin of the Mandal High offshore Norway, and further exploration wells in the North Falkland basin.
