ROTTERDAM, the Netherlands – Jumbo has deployed five subsea structures at PetroSA’s Ikhwezi project offshore South Africa. Jumbo’s DP-2 heavy-lift vessel Fairplayer did the work.
The five structures weighed between 35 and 185 tons and measured as large as 14 x 8 x 5½ m (46 x 26 x 18 ft).
Ikhwezi is a subsea development that ties into the FA-platform and will play an instrumental role in sustaining the life of PetroSA’s gas-to-liquids (GTL) refinery in Mossel Bay, Republic South Africa. It involves tapping into gas reserves in the FO field, 40 km (25 mi) southeast of PetroSA’s F-A production platform off South Africa’s south coast.
