Total gets metocean review for record-setting Martin Linge power cable

TEDLINGTON, UK –BMT ARGOSS has completed an assessment of the meteorological and oceanographic environmental conditions for the Martin Linge field in the Norwegian North Sea for Total Norge AS.
The report includes coverage of installation routes across the Norwegian Trench via Troll field, a fiber-optic cable to Huldra, and a pipeline to the TP-1 tie-in.
A spatial review of the western study area was completed to check the validity of using theMartin Linge criteria at these three sites.
Martin Linge field will be served from the Norwegian mainland electrical grid using a 170 km (105.6 mi) long subsea cable. Thesubmarine power cable running between Martin Linge and Kollsnes crosses the Norwegian Trench that reaches its deepest (approximately 300 m/984 ft) in the vicinity of Troll field.
