EMGS has issued an overview of its fleetā€™s offshore seismic acquisition activity.

TRONDHEIM, Norway ā€“ EMGS has issued an overview of its fleetā€™s offshore seismic acquisition activity.

BOA Thalassa started work last month on a $35-million contract offshore Brunei. Work is expected to be completed by mid-August.

BOA Galatea has been acquiring 3D electromagnetic (EM) data under a multi-client program in the CearĆ” area offshore northern Brazil. On March 24, the vessel started a new multi-client program covering about 8,000 sq km (3,089 sq mi) in the Foz do Amazonas area along Brazilā€™s equatorial margin, with work estimated to last around six months.

EMGS charteredAtlantic Guardian for a firm six months from March 1. Early last month, the vessel was fitted with the companyā€™s new Deep Xpress source system. Following sea trials, it mobilized for a multi-client survey in production license 527 in the Norwegian Sea, due to finish in mid-April. Thereafter, it will perform various programs offshore Norway.

Last month,EM Leader started 3D EM data acquisition under a $7-million contract for new customer China National Petroleum Corp. off Myanmar. This survey was completed yesterday. The vessel will soon mobilize to Malaysia for a $5-million 3D EM survey for another new client, JX Nippon Oil & Gas Exploration.
