CALGARY, Canada – Canadian Natural says its production volumes outside North America declined last year.
The main causes were the suspension of production at theBanff/Kyle field in the UK North Sea, due to storm damage late in 2011; maintenance on a third-party operated North Sea pipeline; natural field declines; and planned maintenance at the Ninian complex n the North Sea, and at Baobab and Espoir offshore West Africa.
This year, however, the company aims to increase production by 6%. Its light oil activities will include a ramp up of drilling operations in the North Sea, the start of abandonment operations at Murchison in the same sector, and an infill drilling program at Espoir.
Preparations continue for exploration drilling off South Africa, with targeted drilling windows from 4Q 2013 to 1Q 2014 and from 4Q 2014 to 1Q 2015.
