Offshore staff
CONSTANTA, Romania – Gazprom Neft has contracted GSP Offshore’s jackup GSP Jupiter to drill in the Pechora Sea offshore northern Russia.
The rig will start operations on theDolginskoye oil field in early June. The location is in the southeastern part of the Russian sector of the Barents Sea.
Scope of work includes drilling, logging, completion, and testing of the North-Dolginskaya No. 3 well. GSP additionally will provide two of the four offshore support vessels to assist the rig during drilling. This will be GSP’s first experience ofArctic drilling.
At present the rig is being mobilized to work offshore Tunisia on theHammamet West-3 well in the Bargou exploration permit.
The Dolginskoye field, discovered in 1999, is 120 km (74 mi) south of the Novaya Zemlya archipelago and 110 km (68 mi) north of mainland Russia. Water depth is around 35-55 m (115-180 ft).
The area has been covered by more than 11,000 km (6,835 mi) of 2D seismic and 1,600 sq km (618 sq mi) of 3D seismic.
To date three exploratory wells have been drilled on the license – two wells on the North-Dolghinskoye field and one on South-Dolghinskoye. Recoverable reserves are estimated at more than 200 MM metric tons.
