OSLO, Norway – Petroleum Safety Authority (PSA) Norway has approved Gassco’s request to dispose of the redundant H-7 platform.
The facility, in the German North Sea, was used as a compressor platform along the Norpipe gas trunkline from 1977 to 1999. It will now be disassembled and removed from the offshore site. Statoil will perform the work on Gassco’s behalf.
Statoil has PSA’s consent to use the upgraded semisubmersibleSonga Trym for exploration drilling in the Norwegian North Sea.
Well 16/8-3 S and an optional side track will be drilled on the Lupin prospect on production license 360 in 72 m (236 ft) of water. The program should start this month and last 72 days.
