TRONDHEIM, Norway – EMGS has updated its current offshore geophysical data-gathering programs.
BOA Thalassa is preparing to mobilize to Brunei for a $35-million contract following equipment upgrades and sea trials in Singapore. Data acquisition will start shortly and should be completed by mid-August.
The owner of theEM Leader has finished a scheduled dry dock stay in Singapore, and the vessel is on its way to Myanmar to perform a $7-million program for China National Petroleum Corp. The vessel will then embark on a $5-million 3D electromagnetic survey for JX Nippon Oil & Gas Exploration off Malaysia, which should be completed early in May.
BOA Galatea will complete a multi-client program off Brazil by mid-March.
Atlantic Guardian has been on standby in Bergen. EMGS has chartered the vessel for a firm six months from March 1 with two three-month optional extensions.
The vessel has been fitted with the company's new source system Deep Xpress. Following sea trials it will mobilize for a multi-client survey lasting around five weeks on production license 527 in the Norwegian Sea.
This will be the third phase of a proof-of-concept, basalt mapping program; the two first phases were performed in the UK’s West of Shetland area and PL598 in the Norwegian Sea last fall.
Next up will be a multi-client campaign in the Barents Sea in mid-April.
