LONDON -- Serica Energy plc (AIM & TSX: SQZ) has issued tender documents for development of the Columbus field in the central UK North Sea.
The project is designed to supply 51.3 MMcf/d of gas at peak to the UK and 3,600 b/d of condensate and natural gas liquids (NGLs). Serica estimates recovery of proven and probable reserves at 78 bcf and 4.8 MMbbl.
Pre-qualified contractors are being asked to tender for fabrication, installation, and hook-up of subsea facilities and associated subsea equipment and systems. Development should get under way in the second half of this year withfirst production targeted for summer 2015.
In parallel, BG has started issuing tenders for a host bridge-linked platform to connect to the nearby producingLomond complex, and linked to Columbus via a 7.7-km (4.8-mi) pipeline.
