ABB to supply electricity to Ichthys processing platform

Samsung Heavy Industries has contracted ABB as the electrical contractor for the Ichthys central processing facility in the Timor Sea off Western Australia.

ZURICH, Switzerland – Samsung Heavy Industries has contracted ABB as the electrical contractor for the Ichthys central processing facility in the Timor Sea off Western Australia.
ABB’s $15-million contract covers design, engineering, installation, commissioning, and project management of the complete, integrated electrical system for the facility, including high voltage air and gas insulated switchgear, low voltage switchboards, and liquid-filled and dry-type transformers.
Ichthys is a joint venture between Inpex Corp. and Total E&P Australia.
