SINGAPORE – Keppel Corp. has secured two contracts worth $200 million for topsides integration in Brazil and fabrication of an internal turret for the Ichthys FPSO in Singapore.
The Brazil contract, with MODEC and Toyo Offshore Production Systems, covers the integration of topside modules of an FPSO at the BrasFELS, the KeppelFELS Brasil yard in Angra dos Reis, Rio de Janeiro. The FPSO, a project by MODEC and partner Schahin Group, has been chartered for operations for 20 years offshore Brazil. The integration will take place from 3Q 2014 to 3Q 2015. The FPSO will have a production capacity of 150,000 bo/d and storage for 1.6 million barrels of oil.
Toyo Offshore Production Systems is a joint venture between MODEC and Toyo Engineering Corp.
Work on the 6,800-metric ton (7,495-ton) Ichthys turret contract, with SBM Offshore, is underway at Keppel Shipyard and on track for delivery in 3Q 2014, Keppel said.The Inpex Corp.-operated Ichthys project, in the Browse basin offshore Western Australia, is expected to produce 8.4 million metric tons (9.26 tons) of LNG and 1.6 million metric tons (1.76 million tons) of LPG per annum, along with 100,000 b/d of condensate at peak.
