SHARJAH, UAE – Leighton Welspun in Mumbai, India, has ordered Seaflex Air Lift bags from Unique Hydrographic Systems for use in subsea and topsides applications offshore western India.
The Air Lift bags, weighing in the 250-5,000 kg (550- 11,023 lb) range, are needed for ONGC’s project to replace production and transportation infrastructure installed in the 1980s for theMumbai High extension program.
Leighton Welspun, which completed theMumbai High Pipeline Replacement Project 2 (PRP 2) in 2011, will start work immediately on PRP 3, with the work due to cover the Mumbai High and Heera oil and gas fields.
Work scope includes installation of 31 subsea pipeline segments, both rigid and flexible, totalling about 200 km (124 mi) in length and in diameters of up to 16 in.; and installation of associated pipeline risers, platform topsides modifications, hookup, and testing.
