STAVANGER, Norway – Statoil (OSE:STL) has temporarily suspended production on the Troll C platform in the Norwegian North Sea pending investigation of corrosion identified during an inspection program.
It was discovered on a tank in the glycol system, an auxiliary system for treating gas on the platform.
A similar tank in a parallel gas treatment system is currently undergoing checks. A specialist team will determine the scope of further action.
Troll C handles daily production of about 120,000 bbl of oil and 10.5 MMcm (370 MMcf) of gas.
